With a strong performance background, Rachel ventured off to college to explore other interests. She entered the University of Kentucky as a mathematics major, with the intention of becoming a high school math teacher. However, her love of the stage soon won over, and she began pursuing theatre studies at the UK and performing throughout the Lexington area. Four years later, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, a certification in Musical Theatre, a minor in mathematics, and a wealth of knowledge and experience that she is ever grateful for.
Rachel now resides in New York City where she is pursuing her artistic dreams: to sing, dance, tell stories, gain knowledge, and share her passions both on the stage and off.
Rachel was thrilled to have a feature article in the Lexington Herald Leader January of 2016! Read the article here.
From a young age, Rachel began crafting a passion for music. Her home in Dayton, Ohio, was always full of singing, under the direction of her mother, who was a full-time choir director, a music instructor, and a third-generation pianist. Early on, Rachel began singing and playing the piano, as well as taking dance classes. Throughout grade school, she found herself taking classes and experimenting with all sorts of dance from ballet to Irish dance to acrobatics and hip hop.
Rachel participated in numerous musical productions at her church and school and gained a breadth of on-stage experience with the Muse Machine – an outstanding arts program for students in her community. Always hungry for artistic outlets, Rachel attended Stivers School for the Arts, also in Dayton, where she explored piano for six years, visual arts, sculpture, and dance alongside her academic studies.
